Cubism ! It's Modern ! Here's how:

"Cubism is like standing at a certain point on a mountain and looking around. If you go higher, things will look different; if you go lower, again they will look different. It is a point of view." ~Jacques Lipchitz
Cubism is the art movement/style derived from artists Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, with the intention of creating a brand new and exciting era for art, where shapes, colors and abstraticism of all kinds are used primarily. This was critized initially, as many people were unfamilar and curious of the concept that is Cubism. Nevertheless, the Cubist art movement still occured, and boy did it get famous fast ! Cubism, according to the MOMA, develops a vsual language of artists, primarily consisting of ":geometric planes and compressed space that rejected the conventions of perspective and representation." Cubist works challenge viewers to understand and/or be confused about a subject broken down into solely its geometrical components, and is often viwed from various different angles. The Cubist art movement peaked from 1906 to 1908.
Cubism, as both an art style and art moveemnt, is considered to be moddern art, not only do we see thrive still in the current contemporary art world, but also because it is said to be one of the more influential art periods of our time. Modernism isn't subjective, but it can be, and when you want your artwork or art style to be considered moddern, well, it is isn't always easy. According to Linkedin, Constructivism, Expressionism, Futurism, Orphism, Suprematism and Vorticism, are all themes prevelant in modern art, and necessary for other kinds of artwork to have and hold,m in order to even be considered as modern artwork. Neverthless, Cubism, as an art style and art movement, does a good job at proving us wrong on that.
